Early Contractions

Last weekend, on Halloween, I had to go to Labor and Delivery at SW Hospital, very scary because I am only 32 weeks.....contractions were 2 minutes apart and this was going on for about an hour and prior for another 2 hours I was having contractions only about 10 minutes apart! I received some medicine and an IV and luckily I haven't had any problems for a week now! I wouldn't mind this baby coming early but not this early!! Let's just hope the baby can hold on for about another month!!
Otherwise, taking things a bit more laid back- not fretting as much about keeping house clean and leaving guilty feelings behind while I lay around on couch (=

Chris has been very helpful and took Monday off, but his schedule at work has been full on, including working on weekends! Well, it looks like more easy crock pot meals are in the works.

Addie is great, she has been taking it easy with me and enjoying watching "toons" while we snuggle on the couch.

Although, we aren't quite ready for baby's arrival, we are very excited to welcome new baby and have even more love and snuggles to go around!

The Beach and Halloween Party

We went to Manzanita last weekend! It was a beautiful sunny day on Sunday and if I could, I would pack my bags and move there today! Addie loved loved loved walking along the coast in her rain boots, wading in the tides, and collecting seashells- she was so worn out that she slept really good and was always pretty darn happy!

Today we went to a Halloween Party for children, and Addie was dressed as a Fall Fairy, or a Pumpkin Princess, or whatever you to call it! She was very cute and had a lot of fun chasing around the kids!

Week 30 of Pregnancy

Feeling bittersweet about my countdown....only 10 weeks left of being pregnant- and possibly for the last time ever. It's funny, because if you asked me during my first trimester, I would have told you I hated being pregnant- all day sickness, tired and cranky. But 2nd and 3rd trimester have been so nice- getting to feel the baby kick, the excitement of the unknown (boy or girl, will it have redhair, who will it look like, etc.) and just the amazing opportunity of creating a new member of our family! I hope I can move on from this feeling of wanting one more baby! I guess if we win the lottery or I find an amazing work from home gig, then it could be a possibility!?

So, I guess who knows what the future holds, but I will fully appreciate this little one growing inside me and look forward to the moment when our eyes first meet!

Addie loves to shop till she drops

I took Addie for a bit of shopping today- we needed a few things from an arts and crafts store, and a home improvement store. My little shopper girl wanted to keep on going, so we headed over to the kids toys store, Toys R Us. It was like a toddler's and a parents dream, because Addie was able to play with several toys without having to buy them! She was really good and I managed to come out of the store only $8 poorer! Her choice toy, turned out to be a pair of shoes and some candy. She is such a fashionista, at the early age of 1.5! What am I going to do.......

Here is Addie after the shopping trip

Ode to Daisy

It has been four days now since Daisy has left....not sure if she is coming back or if she has found a new home. I just hope they will treat her well, and give her lot's of love and attention. While we had Daisy, we had our ups and downs, but one thing is for sure, she was a very sweet pup. We will miss her!

Addie's Allergies?? and other happenings

For the last few months, Addie has been having some issues with her stool. The Dr. is going at it from a couple of angles, including a visit to the allergist and to the GI specialist.
First the Dr. wants us to see if it is dairy causing the problem, most common allergy, by taking her off for 2 weeks. It will be hard to do, especially since she loves her cheese and yogurt, but I have to try to figure out why she is having this issue with mucous in her stool. I am very concerned and a bit annoyed because, I don't really think it is dairy, but I have to go along with the program for Addie's sake. I think either it is a food allergy or a viral infection that is lingering on. It is weird because she will be better with normal stool for 2 weeks and then out of no where, she has the mucous in her stool. The appointment with the children's GI specialist at the hospital here isn't until Oct. 5th. It could be something serious, or not, and that worries me, and I worry all the time. But the Dr. seems to think it shouldn't be anything serious, so I am hoping he is right.
She has been eating other foods rich in calcium like broccoli, almond butter and some foods I cook with soy milk, like pancakes. She eats a lot of meat and potatoes and other starchy items besides her fruits and veg. She has quite a variety of food, but some days Addie is more picking than other days. Addie seems to be going through some tough cycles lately. Yesterday she was a super kid, but today, she is so tired from not getting enough sleep yesterday- she woke early and had a shortened nap, so hopefully she will take a nice long snooze today. She is also teething, getting in 4 cuspids!! So my life has been all about salvaging the day, and just making it through. We went out with my friend today, and her little girl, and luckily only 1 real meltdown, and then getting into the car was another story. But then she fell fast asleep and unfortunately when I transferred her from the car to her bed she woke up and in a terrible way, I spent the next 15 minutes consoling her and helping her fall back to sleep. I bargained with her that I was going bye bye if she didn't go to sleep. That worked, she settled down and allowed her self to rest. It's just so hard at this stage, and I really don't know how we are going to do with another, but somehow we will make it through, and hopefully laugh at our crazy kids!

Speaking of the baby, I am now 17 weeks and feeling the baby move!! It is bittersweet, because I know it will all go by so fast. I just hope we can figure out some names before we get to the hospital like the last time (-:

We are not sure if we want to find out the sex or not, and this is really upsetting the family, but sometimes, I like to do things the old fashioned way!! Except child birth, that will be performed by new technology called a schedule c-section. After deliberating with myself and the Doctors, I have decided that this is the best option, considering what happened with Addie. I don't want to hemorrhage blood again, and the risks are high if I try to deliver naturally. If by chance I go into early labor at 36 weeks, then I will try for a natural labor, but this is unlikely.

Addie is napping peacefully upstairs in her new bed that we are transitioning her into. We are trying to get things ready before the baby arrives. Meaning, Addie in her own bed, Chris in his own bed and me and wailing baby in our own bed! So hopefully she will get used to her new lullaby land?! And since she is sleeping, it is time for me to get into the fridge and put together a tasty meal, adios for now amigos.

our family trip to Wichita

We just returned home from our 7 day trip to Wichita Kansas to visit Tiffanie's family! It was a great trip with lots of adventures, including the zoo, cow town- a living museum, fishing at a lake, drive-in theatre, downtown Wichita, pool, pool and more pool! Oh and we even were entertained by one of those famous mid-west lightning and thunder storms!! Luckily we were not hit by the baseball size hail!!

Addie had so much fun visiting with her big cousins Elliott and Nolan. They were such good playmates for Addie even though they are 3.5 years older. Addie enjoyed chasing them around, and around the house or playing with their many cars and transformers.

The pool was a great treat to have so close by, at first Addie was nervous to swim but by the end of the trip she was trying to go swimming on her own. Unfortunately she doesn't know how to swim yet! She even walked straight into the pool, luckily dad was within arm's reach to catch her before we had to jump in fully clothed!

Overall, this was such a nice vacation, one that we all really needed!

Baby Willis 2009

So it looks like our due date is December 29th, 2009- Just in time for 2008 taxes (:

The baby was moving during the scan, and it was really incredible- I guess I thought the second time around wouldn't be as special, but it truly is!!

The last couple of days, I have been feeling a little better, but seeing our little human helped put things into perspective (like stop whining).

Seems like I have a bit more energy as well!

So all is good so far.

Addie is getting so big and smart, she always amazes me! She likes to sing to herself, it's a very pretty song, it goes like dododo, do, doooo. Also, she has developed a very funny laugh (she has a few different ones) , I will have to try and record!

She uses the potty (thanks to Elmo's Potty Time Video) with only 1 real success, but that's okay, atleast she is trying. She now knows when she poops and pee's and likes to tell me about it, which is helpful, but it would be even more helpful to tell me before she poops or pee's (-:

Well that's the scoop!

Chris' Bday Party at Browns Camp

It was Chris' 36th Bday a week ago, and his request was to go riding quads/dirtbikes at Browns Camp in Oregon. Browns Camp is a riders oasis with miles and miles of trails and jumps, accompanied by beautiful trees and natural setting! We all headed out (Rick, a few friends, Addie, Chris and myself).

Addie and I played in the nearby creek and later Addie had a spin on her own little quad- I even ventured out and decided that I could use my own 4-wheeler! Chris was very happy to hear that someday we will get our own, but for now it was nice to borrow my step-dads toys! Here are some videos of us!

Getting New Teeth is no fun for the whole family

Poor Addie, is all I can say! It must be so painful to be getting 4 molars in at once! Plus a few more are on their way out. Addie wakes up through the night, and roams around our bed trying to get back to sleep through the pain. During the day I let her chomp on apples that I have peeled and this seems to give a lot of relief for her. I do give her motrin if it seems unbearable for her. Last night she was in an awful state, and unfortunately, we were hosting my cousin's birthday party. I felt real bad for everyone having to listen to her screams, but mostly I just felt so sorry for my little girl. I have heard that redheads can not tolerate as much pain as other people.....seems true for me!

We went to story time at the library, and she was grumpy with the other children when they tried to steal her toy- she especially doesn't put up with this when in discomfort! Normally when children she doesn't know take her things she just looks confused and slightly irritated. Today she would scream NO at the top of her lungs! A bit funny really.

Well, sorry no pics of story time but I was doing my best to keep it all together!

At the Zoo

For some reason I think this is the funniest outfit combination! Pink hat with green/brown stripes! Addie is at such a FUN age! Her vocabulary is amazing me, with new words by the day. She sure has a mind of her own, and likes to express it now as much as she can!

We purchased a zoo pass, and now that the weather is getting better, I am sure we will become a regular and soon she will know a few more animal words.

After the zoo, we came home and I had this overwhelming urge to clean our horrific shed and paint it with some of the free paint we were given......Addie of course had her share of fun with the paint! I wish I had someone video taping it, or even photograph it, because it was actually one of the funniest and most annoying thing ever to try and paint with a one year old. At one point she had her hands fully submerged into the paint bucket and was on her way to put her hands in her mouth.....Soon after we took a long shower and bath! It was quite funny really. Well, my post is done now due to a pesky baby pinching me in the belly

It was such a great weekend, thanks to the Tyrrell Family!
Although very cold and windy, we managed to take a pony ride, pet the goats, llamas, pig, and even zebra!

Bagby Hot Springs

Bagby Hot Springs is about a 2 hour drive, and a 3 mile hike, but it is worth it! You get to have a steaming hot bath with natural, mineral rich spring water! We thoroughly enjoyed our hike (even though it took 2 times as long with our toddler). She did an exceptional job walking almost half of the trail without assistance! There were a few times we had to pick her up and carry her, especially over the semi-snowy trail.
